Routt County offers treks for both beginners and intermediate climbers. Guided half or full day tours can also be booked (age 6 and older). Most tours do include top-rope (belayed by a guide) climbs. The Gondola is best known for helping skiiers ferry around town. The summer gives the eight-passenger gondola cars a whole new meaning. The ride itself will take you to the mid-point of the mountain so you can hike, bike, or picnic at your leisure. Again, this is just another awesome way to get the bird view from above! Hot air ballooning also offers an invigorating view of the Yampa Valley and surrounding mountains – definitely perfect for a romantic encounter or family adventure!

Perhaps one of our favorite outdoor active adventures has to be white water rafting. There are three state parks offering camping, fishing, and hiking all surrounding Steamboat Springs and our Villa Luxe Steamboat Springs villas. The area also offers two marinas that offer everything you’ll need for your trip to kayaks, pontoons, and water-ski boats. The Elk River is particularly thrilling early in the season for whitewater rafting. The Colorado is also a good choice as it runs through the canyons on the southwest side of Steamboat. For those craving a less adrenaline pumping watersport, Steamboat Lake and Stagecoach offer ideal locates to paddle board or canoe. Pearl Lake is also a wonderful spot if you prefer glass top and wakeless. The Ute Indians settled in the area due to the hot springs (among many others). You too can experience why the Utes fell in love with this land and relax in the medicinal (they say) natural springs as you fall in love with the relaxing environment at your Steamboat Springs villa rental.

The area is ripe with hiking trails with varying skill levels all allowing hikers to explore natural waterfalls, alpine lakes, and historic sites.
